Rules

  1. The Coventry & Leicester show is open to any breed of cat recognised by the GCCF, plus household pets. In addition any GCCF recognised Sphynx may also enter the Sphynx Cat Association show, GCCF recognised Persians and Exotics may enter the Colourpoint show and Household Pets may enter all 4 shows. Entries are welcomed worldwide but payment must be in GBP and it must be understood and accepted that pedigree cats will be judged to GCCF standards as far as can be ascertained from photographs. Overseas entrants must also be willing to pay for postage for any rosettes etc they may win.

  2. Adult or neuter cat means any cat aged 9 months and over. Kitten means any cat aged from 14 weeks to 1 day under 9 months of age.

  3. Pedigree cats do not need to be registered with the GCCF but do need to be a breed recognised by them, ie no Folds, Curls, Munchkins, Donskoys etc.

  4. The definition of “Non Pedigree” and “Pedigree Pet” is that set out by the GCCF, ie a non-pedigree cat is a cat of unknown parents that resembles a “moggy” whereas a pedigree pet is one that is a fully registered pedigree with a withholding fault, an obvious pedigree but with no papers, (ie a rescued cat), a cat that has one or two pedigree parents, whether of the same or different breeds, and a cat that strongly resembles a pedigree cat even if parentage is unknown. Only breeds recognised by the GCCF can be entered as a pedigree pet.

  5. Entries open at around 9am on Saturday 12th February 2022 and close at 10pm on Monday 28th February 2022. Each entry must be accompanied by 2 photos – full body (standing or sitting) and full front head shot. Both photos should be of the cat at a similar age, for example, please do not submit one photo of the cat at 11 months old and another at 9 years old. Entries shall be made via the entry form on the website. The entry form should state the age of the cat in the photos submitted NOT the cat’s current age unless the photos are very recent.

  6. Entries cost £8 for a single entry, £6 per entry for 2 entries, and £5 per entry for 3 or more entries. 1 cat in 2 shows classes as 2 entries, 1 cat in 2 shows and 1 cat in 1 show counts as 3 etc. Members classes are £2 per cat per show. FREE single membership for 1 year for each Club entered is included with the 1 cat entry and double (where applicable) with the 2 cat entry. Membership will run to, and include, our shows in 2023. Fees to be paid by Paypal (link will be emailed to you upon entry submission), or by BACS upon application. You can enter as many cats as you wish but will need to fill in a separate entry form for each one. Each cat can be entered into ONE breed class only plus the relevant members class if applicable. The only exception to this is that a cat that is now an adult/neuter may also be entered as a kitten provided a separate form is filled in and that the photos submitted show the cat as a kitten. If you have any doubt as to the correct class please email clhhpsca.jointshows@yahoo.com and we will help you.

  7. As the judges will be looking for cats in good health and obviously well groomed and looked after any photos not showing the cat clearly, showing dirty eyes or faces etc and with too much background clutter are unlikely to do well. Please do not include people in the photos.

  8. Photographs can be ones you took yourself or professionally taken photos or ones taken by friends/family etc. However, if submitting a photo you did NOT take yourself please make sure that you have permission to use it. We cannot take any responsibility for copyright breaches on the photos you have submitted.

  9. Normal digital adjustment/cropping etc is allowed but please do not submit heavily photoshopped or distorted photos with borders, embellishments etc as these will be rejected.  Please note that although not essential, the squarer a photo is, the better it will display on the website.

  10.  Judges will take into account the whole cat – head, body, coat, eyes etc, including accepted colours for particular breeds. We accept that there are differences in standards between different registries so please be aware that it is the GCCF standard that will be applied.

  11. As entries are "anonymous", i.e. no owners names shown, judges may enter in classes/shows they are not judging.  Admins etc may also enter in sections they are not dealing with if they wish.

  12. Only cats currently alive may be entered, we are sorry, but no Rainbow Bridge cats please.

  13. The show manager’s and judges’ decisions are final.

  14. By entering you agree to your details being held for the purposes of contacting you in respect of prizes and to your photographs (and your name should you be a winner) being displayed on the website for a maximum period of 6 months from the close of entries.

  15. For YES classes parental consent for the entry and for the publication of the child/owner’s name on the website if a winner MUST be obtained and indicated by the tick box on the entry form.
